ALL-ON-4 / ALL-ON-6

The only difference between All-on-6 and All-on-4 is the number of implants that we install in the bone.

The process of the procedures are the same, only that the All-on-6 takes slightly longer due to a higher number of implants to install. You and your dentist will determine the ideal number of implants you need together, on the basis of an initial exam, a detailed analysis of your dental situation, and the condition of your jaw bones.

The All-on-6 solution gives your teeth and overall jaw additional strength, stability, and support. If you need more implants for better stability, your dentist will let you know after a consultation, imaging, and analysis of your bones and teeth.

After a detailed analysis and diagnostics, your oral surgeon will determine the number of implants you need and how many your jaw can accommodate. At ARENA clinic, the maximum number of implants we can place in one jaw is 6.

In addition to the All-on-4 and All-on-6 method, we offer the Toronto dental bridge, an innovative fixed solution for edentulism, which replaces the entire dental arch and the missing teeth on one or both jaws.

The Toronto bridge is a hybrid, circular bridge made of 12 to 14 crowns, which we make out of ceramic or zirconia at the ARENA clinic lab. At the top of the bridge is a thin layer that functions like a gum, which makes the Toronto bridge an exceptionally comfortable solution.

The Toronto bridge is fixed to previously installed dental implants (usually 6), but the number or implants can be more or less depending on the situation. Apart from that, our dentists can remove this kind of bridge, assess its condition, and conduct professional cleanings as necessary.

It largely depends on the quality and volume of jaw bone available. If there is enough jaw bone to work with, we recommend an All-on-6, or 6 dental implants and a fixed prosthetic (denture). If the bone mass is insufficient, then installing 4 implants via the All-on-4 method is another possible route we can take.

Today, there are several options available to solve complete edentulism. There are fixed, partially-fixed, and mobile options. The best are the fixed varieties (All-on-4 and All-on-6), though they’re also the most expensive. If the price isn’t accessible, there are plenty of other more affordable options that can significantly improve the quality of life in patients who suffer from total edentulism.

When some teeth are missing for a long time, the quality of surrounding teeth suffers to the point of needing removal.

In addition to their suitability for complete edentulism, All-on-4 and All-on-6 make for ideal solutions for partial edentulism, wherein the remaining teeth are in such bad shape that they need to be removed either immediately or in the near future.

The All-on-6 is a permanent solution for edentulism, and with a higher amount of implants comes a longer lifespan of the dental work. The crewing force is more evenly distributed, and the overall functionality of the jaw is greater. It’s also more comfortable to wear and easier to adjust to in the beginning.
